Artist Statement

What images would my subconscious bring up if I discarded all visual referencing? I am not so much seeking an abstraction, more an image that my memory conjures up of a place that I have travelled to, sat by or listened in. Often a colour on the canvas will steer me to another memory and the landscape would change as I paint.
